FAQ's

Is Senior Residential Placement a new concept?

Though there are a limited number of senior placement services scattered throughout the country, this concept is at its infancy stage considering the fact of our aging population. Because this valuable service is not that well-known, familiy members are having to spend excess time and money (not to mention the stress) trying to accomplish finding the best type of housing and care for their loved ones.

Who is behind Senior Care Authority Network?

Frank Samson is a Certified Senior Advisor, founder of SCAnetwork and a successful entrpreneur.  He is also founder of Senior Care Authority, a senior residential placement service in Northern California. He hosts "The Aging Boomers"  radio show, writes educational articles for newspapers as well as his own blog and has appeared on numerous TV Shows including "Aging Matters" in the Bay area.

Frank's dream is to help build a network of  individually owned senior residential care businesses where value added services are provided. These businesses are either already in the senior residential placement business or those that want to start their own. We have fine-tuned every aspect our placement agency operation. We documented our “best practices,” enabling us to share these practices with new members. This saves our owners significant money and time in setting up this unique business in senior care.

If I enroll in the online training program, why would I also need to have coaching?

Consider the online training to be more like a classroom situation and the coaching to be similar to on-the-job training.  SCAnetwork used to just offer the online training when the company started, but based on the input from those that completed the training, they suggested we start a coaching program.  Many had several questions once they began applying what they learned in "real-life" situations.  Since then, input on our coaching has been excellent.

If I have a background in the health care industry, do I really need the coaching?

There are many aspects to the coaching program that will be beneficial regardless of your background.  However, if it is pre-determined that not all the coaching sessions are necessary based on your particular background, we will glad to make adjustments in the sessions and pricing.

I'm already in another senior care business, so why would I consider senior residential placement?

If you want to provide your client with a full range of services, senior residential placement could be a great addition.  For example, those that are have an in-home non-medical care business could offer a valuable service to their clients if the client cannot remain at home anymore and has to go to an assisted living or dementia care location.  This can be due to several reasons including family dynamics, costs or level of care.  Providing this value-add service can help differentiate your services.

I own a Senior Residential Placement Service...what are the benefits of being part of this network?

There are several including our SCANET program which can bring exclusive family referrals to you electronically.  Though it's important for local placement services develop business in their own communities, there is a greater trend towards searching online for assistance with loved ones.  With our technology and network, we can help in growing this important market!

You are able to subscribe to only those services that you feel you would benefit from (i.e. - E-mail Marketing, CRM/Referral Program or Website Development).  In addition, we provide the opportunity both electronically and face-to-face for you to connect with other owners in other areas of the country.

What name would we market under?

You would market under your own brand name.  Though our SCAnetwork management team has had many years experience in franchising and franchise consulting, our belief that building your own brand in your local market is much more important than building our brand. You would not market our brand, though we're there to provide you with the consulting and services that have been outlined.

How much money can I earn in senior placement?

The income earned comes from the fees paid to you by the particular residential care homes, assisted living and memory care facilities. Whatever income you derive from your business is entirely dependent upon you and the time and effort you devote to the business.

Can I work from home?

Absolutely. When we began our senior placement business in Northern California, it was home-based. However, within a short period of time, we grew to the point of needing additional employees and set up a local office.

If I complete the online training and coaching programs, can I enroll in the SCANET Program?

Whether you complete our program or you have operated a Senior Residential Placmeent business, you must be in business for at least 6 months before consideration is given to the SCANET Program.
